So after thousands of miles driven and a few scary moments [livejournal.com profile] fate_envies_us and I made it back to Austin. And now several days later I'll tell you all about it. Heh.

The driving was long and did I mention long? I don't know how Jenn managed to do it all on her own, it was exhausting just being the passenger. But it was about 15 and 1/2 hours up to Indiana, most of the driving spent heading out of Texas and then we were into Arkansas>Missouri>Illinois>Indiana. It was crazy and what is with the getting dark at like 5pm these days? That needs to stop.

But we made it to Evansville and to our place of accommodation for the next few days, wherein the Mal was exhausted and not very chatty but we got to see some of Jenn's friends before passing out.

The next few days were spent touring the University of Evansville campus, which I have to say is really pretty. Much prettier than say my Alma Mater's campus. But I followed Jenn around to meet her former professors and check out all the changes too the campus since she went to school there. I'd say there's nothing that makes you feel older than going back to your school and finding that so much has changed. I still feel that way when I visit the old McM.

After a few days of hanging around UE Jenn and I hopped back in the car and drove up to Seymour,Indiana. To see more of her friends, that was fun hanging with her friend's family. They were quite amusing, and gave Jenn a satisfactory hard time while we stayed with them. And the next day we took a short trek up to Indianapolis to visit yet another friend and there we got to watch Forgetting Sarah Marshall. That movie was so silly and I loved it :D

And the next day it snowed!

And we drove in it, and had a few scary moments with the windshield deciding it didn't want us to see the road for a while, but we managed. There were a few stops to squeegy down the window, but it was totally worth it - cause otherwise there might have been death, and I'm not such a big fan of the death.

And that afternoon it was back to Evansville to meet the Stevie :D

And that was fun, after discovering that our poor little guest room on the UE campus didn't have a tv or sheets for the bed, we decided we would rent a movie. But while we were out doing that we decided to just buy a movie at the Walmart.

So we moved the party to Walmart where movies and sustenance (can a hot pocket really be called sustenance?) was purchased as well as a copy of Beedle the Bard for myself. Before we headed to Barnes and Nobel. There was much browsing of books, including a very thorough investigation of the Gay & Lesbian literature. And after Jenn went crazy buying books, it was back to UE.

And we ended up playing Phase 10 with a friend of Jenn's, before movie time. And then it was off to bed. We slept in late and then the next day we say bye to the Stevie and we hit the road driving through the night to make it back to Texas.

Jenn slept for a few hours before I sent her packing.

And that was about it. Overall I had a good time, and I had fun hanging out with Jenn for a week, and meeting the Stevie. Plus there was snow. :D

I have a jennimal at my house, ([livejournal.com profile] fate_envies_us) she is sleeping out on my couch as we speak. I am staying up later to finish burning our road tripping cds. We leave tomorrow morning around 7 for our million hour (aka 14 hour) road trip up to Evansville.

It shall be lots of fun.

The poor jennimal doesn't have a coat, she left it at home. We went out tonight to get one, but it is Sunday and places are closed and being that this is Texas, there aren't a whole lot of really warm coats floating around. So we're going to stop at some point on the drive tomorrow and get her one.

So there shall be updates from the road via lj text updates, and yeah I'll be back in a week with pictures to share and all sorts of stuff. ILU f-list.

Also today was the last day of [livejournal.com profile] mini_nanowrimo and I finished with a grand total of 13,076 an amazing 10,076 than I had originally planned on writing. So woohoo for that.

There shall be fics coming up soon, because I am almost done with my [livejournal.com profile] 7snogs fics and there are holiday exchange fics I am writing. So yeah, fics shall be forthcoming.

Today was a good day. I got to drive down to San Antonio to spend a good part of the day with my best friend, she and I went out to lunch and this nice little Mexican grill, then we browsed the most girly shop I've ever been in before called Charming Charlie's. My goodness this place was fabulous, and if I were the sort of girl to accessorize it would have been even better. As it was I was having a good time with all the clutches - I love me a good clutch.

And after browsing and oohing and aahing over all the jewelry for a while it was off to the movies where we saw Twilight. And I have to say, for all the negative reviews I've been reading, I loved this movie. It was perfect and cheesy and it was just a very enjoyable viewing experience. My friend and I did lots of laughing at inappropriate moments and just generally having a good time.

Of course the traffic out of San Antonio this evening, not so much fun.

I might have gone to the movies again when I got back in town tonight. My sister, she had no one to go see twilight with, and what was I supposed to do I ask you? I was a good big sister and took her to the movies tonight. And it was just as good the second time around. Heh.

I am feeling very ambitious with my [livejournal.com profile] spn_j2_xmas prompt, and I am hoping to actually write something pretty substantial. We'll see, but I have big plans and they could work out wonderfully or just be completely terrible, for now it's a toss up.

Tomorrow shall be filled with cleaning and such, preparing for Thanksgiving, and the family which shall descend upon the house on Thursday.

TMI Question: If while you were out of town for the afternoon, your mother was cleaning house, and you come home to find that the box in which you'd been keeping an X-rated item of the silicon variety was suddenly missing. What would you do?

Other important information to note: The shoe box in question was later found - empty, your mother has not mentioned anything about the objects found therein - but said object is still missing.
