So after thousands of miles driven and a few scary moments [livejournal.com profile] fate_envies_us and I made it back to Austin. And now several days later I'll tell you all about it. Heh.

The driving was long and did I mention long? I don't know how Jenn managed to do it all on her own, it was exhausting just being the passenger. But it was about 15 and 1/2 hours up to Indiana, most of the driving spent heading out of Texas and then we were into Arkansas>Missouri>Illinois>Indiana. It was crazy and what is with the getting dark at like 5pm these days? That needs to stop.

But we made it to Evansville and to our place of accommodation for the next few days, wherein the Mal was exhausted and not very chatty but we got to see some of Jenn's friends before passing out.

The next few days were spent touring the University of Evansville campus, which I have to say is really pretty. Much prettier than say my Alma Mater's campus. But I followed Jenn around to meet her former professors and check out all the changes too the campus since she went to school there. I'd say there's nothing that makes you feel older than going back to your school and finding that so much has changed. I still feel that way when I visit the old McM.

After a few days of hanging around UE Jenn and I hopped back in the car and drove up to Seymour,Indiana. To see more of her friends, that was fun hanging with her friend's family. They were quite amusing, and gave Jenn a satisfactory hard time while we stayed with them. And the next day we took a short trek up to Indianapolis to visit yet another friend and there we got to watch Forgetting Sarah Marshall. That movie was so silly and I loved it :D

And the next day it snowed!

And we drove in it, and had a few scary moments with the windshield deciding it didn't want us to see the road for a while, but we managed. There were a few stops to squeegy down the window, but it was totally worth it - cause otherwise there might have been death, and I'm not such a big fan of the death.

And that afternoon it was back to Evansville to meet the Stevie :D

And that was fun, after discovering that our poor little guest room on the UE campus didn't have a tv or sheets for the bed, we decided we would rent a movie. But while we were out doing that we decided to just buy a movie at the Walmart.

So we moved the party to Walmart where movies and sustenance (can a hot pocket really be called sustenance?) was purchased as well as a copy of Beedle the Bard for myself. Before we headed to Barnes and Nobel. There was much browsing of books, including a very thorough investigation of the Gay & Lesbian literature. And after Jenn went crazy buying books, it was back to UE.

And we ended up playing Phase 10 with a friend of Jenn's, before movie time. And then it was off to bed. We slept in late and then the next day we say bye to the Stevie and we hit the road driving through the night to make it back to Texas.

Jenn slept for a few hours before I sent her packing.

And that was about it. Overall I had a good time, and I had fun hanging out with Jenn for a week, and meeting the Stevie. Plus there was snow. :D

And now that we've heard from teh jenn It's time for a recap of the Mal's day:

1. Wake up too dang early at 7:30. Shower dressed picked out clothes for later and got everything thrown in my car. And I leave the house and then 2 minutes down the road I realize I've left my directions, and so I have to turn around and get those before I go get gas for my car. And then I hit the road around 8:45.

2. Stupid long drive, though not as long as when I drive to Austin. But there was all this stupid construction on the way taking the highway down to one lane in either direction and the speed limit down to 60. And so I actually had to go the speed limit, unlike when it's 70 and I can go 75.

3. And I made it to Fort Worth, without getting lost at all (go me!) and I even made it to the Chili's to meet [livejournal.com profile] fate_envies_us (the Jenn, of course) and Betsy. And we had lunch/breakfast and it was fun, and Jenn and I teased each other like we usually do and Betsy was really nice. And we talked about Supernatural and how much in love we are with Jensen.

4. And then having finished around noonish we decided to head over to Casa Manana, which was only like 4 blocks up the street, so we got some excellent parking and we went and took silly pictures of the sign by the street of Jensen's Name, and the Show, and Lou Diamond Phillps. And it amused me greatly when we met another fan as we were taking pictures with the sign, who had the same idea we did.

It was amazing to me, all these SPN/Jensen fans coming out to support him and see him in this play. This is the first time I've ever done anything in person with fandom people, so it was pretty awesome - to talk about fandom stuff outloud, ha!

5. And so we had all this time to wait and I was still in my driving clothes, so I needed to change but we couldn't get in to the bathrooms at the Casa, so I was brave and went and changed out in my car, in to my adult clothes and shoes. And then we waited in the vestibule thingie until they opened the door.

6. And then we went inside, and used the bathrooms, because there was no way we were going to leave during the show for something as silly as having to pee. And so with that taken care of we hung out in the lobby, looking for the girl in the pink shirt and white skirt (aka [livejournal.com profile] surrexi - Besty spotted her first. And so we met Liz and Gabe and we all talked for a while before the theater doors opened. And then we all split up, Betsy and Jenn going one way, Gabe and Liz going another and then me all by my lonesome.

7. And so we waited for the show to start, and it again amused me the amount of people there just to see Jensen. Everyone around me was talking about him, and what acting he'd done before this and what show's he's been in and some of them talked about stuff he does in A Few Good Men, and it was just highly entertaining to me.

8. And then it started.

9. So I thought going up to Fort Worth today that I liked Jensen Ackles, that I was amazingly excited to see him in this play, and just all this stuff. But the minute he was on stage, I was in love, it was just so awesome, he was an amazing actor and so beautiful. I have a whole new appreciation for that man now after seeing this play. He was so good, even when he fumbled his lines occasionally, and rushed some of them - he was just awesome.

I am so glad that Jenn pressured me into getting a ticket.

10. And then came intermission, where Jenn, Betsy and I joined up again, this time joined by [livejournal.com profile] deanlicious and she was lovely and nice, and can I just tell you all how much I loved getting to meet up with lj people in real life - I want to meet you all now.

11. And then the rest of the play was just as amazing and wonderful as the first half. It got so intense towards the end and Jensen did so well, and I loved all the other characters as well, they all worked really well together. I loved Lou Diamond Phillips he was so brilliant, and Jerome Betha especially - he played his character so well, I loved it.

12. And after it was all over, we met up with Liz and Gabe again outside the theater before we said goodbye to them, and then Betsy, Jenn, and I hung out in the parking lot for a little while before we decided to head over to Barnes and Nobel, I changed my shirt in the car again, for those of you who wanted to know.

13. And then we played around in Barnes and Nobel for a few hours, looking at the Texas books, and then the magazines and then the movies and music and then the Literary Theory books, and then some fiction, and then the GBLT section, before moving on to the Sex/Relationship section. And after all that fun we headed to the Starbucks and had something to drink.

And then that was it ... after we finished our drinks we headed out to the parking lot where I bid Betsy and Jenn goodbye and headed back towards Abilene - which took forever, and my ipod died during the day and there are no radio stations between Fort Worth and Abilene, and the construction again, and wrecks this time too.

But I managed to make it home in one piece, and I had a wonderfully brilliant day.

After all that I'll hid the pictures - which I stole from Jenn, cause my camera is a bitch, so if you've seen Jenn's post you don't have to look through these )
