acquiescence: (open road)
[personal profile] acquiescence
So after thousands of miles driven and a few scary moments [livejournal.com profile] fate_envies_us and I made it back to Austin. And now several days later I'll tell you all about it. Heh.

The driving was long and did I mention long? I don't know how Jenn managed to do it all on her own, it was exhausting just being the passenger. But it was about 15 and 1/2 hours up to Indiana, most of the driving spent heading out of Texas and then we were into Arkansas>Missouri>Illinois>Indiana. It was crazy and what is with the getting dark at like 5pm these days? That needs to stop.

But we made it to Evansville and to our place of accommodation for the next few days, wherein the Mal was exhausted and not very chatty but we got to see some of Jenn's friends before passing out.

The next few days were spent touring the University of Evansville campus, which I have to say is really pretty. Much prettier than say my Alma Mater's campus. But I followed Jenn around to meet her former professors and check out all the changes too the campus since she went to school there. I'd say there's nothing that makes you feel older than going back to your school and finding that so much has changed. I still feel that way when I visit the old McM.

After a few days of hanging around UE Jenn and I hopped back in the car and drove up to Seymour,Indiana. To see more of her friends, that was fun hanging with her friend's family. They were quite amusing, and gave Jenn a satisfactory hard time while we stayed with them. And the next day we took a short trek up to Indianapolis to visit yet another friend and there we got to watch Forgetting Sarah Marshall. That movie was so silly and I loved it :D

And the next day it snowed!

And we drove in it, and had a few scary moments with the windshield deciding it didn't want us to see the road for a while, but we managed. There were a few stops to squeegy down the window, but it was totally worth it - cause otherwise there might have been death, and I'm not such a big fan of the death.

And that afternoon it was back to Evansville to meet the Stevie :D

And that was fun, after discovering that our poor little guest room on the UE campus didn't have a tv or sheets for the bed, we decided we would rent a movie. But while we were out doing that we decided to just buy a movie at the Walmart.

So we moved the party to Walmart where movies and sustenance (can a hot pocket really be called sustenance?) was purchased as well as a copy of Beedle the Bard for myself. Before we headed to Barnes and Nobel. There was much browsing of books, including a very thorough investigation of the Gay & Lesbian literature. And after Jenn went crazy buying books, it was back to UE.

And we ended up playing Phase 10 with a friend of Jenn's, before movie time. And then it was off to bed. We slept in late and then the next day we say bye to the Stevie and we hit the road driving through the night to make it back to Texas.

Jenn slept for a few hours before I sent her packing.

And that was about it. Overall I had a good time, and I had fun hanging out with Jenn for a week, and meeting the Stevie. Plus there was snow. :D
