1. X-Men: First Class was so fun. I really was terribly worried about it, after the last film and after seeing just so many clips and things released before the film was out. But I saw it with my sister yesterday and it was great. And dude seriously Erik and Charles - bitches be in love.
2. Coconut yogurt = the most amazing thing I've ever eaten and I need more stat.
3. Battlestar Galactica the complete series on DVD 60% off on Amazon right now .... do I want it? IDK!
4. Poor dog just fell on her face trying to catch her tail.

Another year
May. 9th, 2011 12:31 amIt's that time of year again - when I suddenly get older.
Happened on Mother's day this year, apparently the last time that happened it was 2005 or something. It was a good day though, even sharing it with mom - heh.
Question: what is with sushi places all being closed on Sunday? Is there an actual reason for this? Or is it another one of those we live in Texas so everyone is a Christian so we close on Sunday so people can go to church like we all work at Chik-fil-et? All I wanted was some sushi for my birthday - which was had, but still. It shouldn't have been such an ordeal.
So many new clothes!
I'm gonna go pass out now, it was a long day. Hope you mothers out there had a good day too.

back to monotony.
May. 3rd, 2011 11:29 pmMade it back to Texas last night, I survived. I was welcomed back by amazing weather and a migraine that threatened to end my life and slept for 10 hours. Then there was work today - no one did any filing for the week I was gone, took forever today. We're at the new office, I have a closet for a workspace. I bought a chair for my desk and a fan, aaaaaand ... yeah. Still have a tickle in my throat, but my voice is back.
I need to do laundry and put away my bags (soooooo many bags)
the end.

Headed back to Texas, the epic New York-New Hampshire trip has been great and I didn't get kidnapped or killed or have anything stolen or anything. I had a great time, but I want to go home and be sick there before I have to go back to work.

He was breathing the same air as me!
Apr. 25th, 2011 05:37 pmSo today
titti and her girls took me into the city to show me some of the sights and let me be one of those annoying tourists that are all over New York. We stopped for brunch and then we were headed through town to see some sights and we passed by the Federal Building, and we stopped a little park space and Titti was telling me how White Collar sometimes films there, and then we actually look and you guys... White Collar was filming right then!
Matt Bomer and Willie Garson were right there being fabulous and just ha it was amazing and just so perfect. The man is just as gorgeous in person as he is in pictures. And speaking of pictures I snapped a few, which I shall share under the cut.

Going to NYC in the morning! I hate flying, but I love airports!
titti is gonna pick me up at the airport and I'm going to stay with her while I'm up there. And
millieweasley is coming on Wednesday, and then we're going to NH on Thursday for
aeternitas2011 to see
scalderwood and
sparkysparky. It's gonna be awesome!
Sooooo yeah, bed time so I can be up at 4 tomorrow morning D:

Who is the Doctor?
Apr. 19th, 2011 12:07 pmSo I had this dream last night, it was about Dr. Who - sort of like a behind the scenes this is something we thought about when going into this episode sort of dream. But basically it went like this:
There is this shelf of things that belong to the Doctor, it's all a random assortment of things and no one really knows the story behind it all, except for the general description that these are the Doctor's things and they play some part in his past.
Though when it came time for the episode with the fez they decided there was a story behind it (the fez being something on this shelf of things) and that the person the Doctor is was actually a person at one point not the Doctor and the fez was a part of this person's history and it sort of gave them back story on everything on this shelf that they decided were all parts of the lives that the people who had been the Doctor before they were the Doctor.
Yeah IDK ... I haven't even watched that much of Who. A few episodes of the Eleventh Doctor and I'm up to like 10 episodes on the Ninth. I have no idea where this dream came from but yeah there it is. It was super vivid too - normally I can't remember much of my dreams but this one was so real.
I might blame White Collar a little, since I was watching the extra stuff on that last night - though how that ties into Dr. Who I have no idea.

In an effort to continue my procrastination from writing, I thought I'd do the WIP meme again because it's one of my favorites. Though I clearly I have issue with this single sentence rule - sue me.
001. "Thank you for that astute observation Mr. Turpin." Eames didn't let himself look the Captain in the eye, didn't dare too as the idea of just what could be done to him now started to fill his mind. "However, the question was meant for the boy."
002. He is in so far over his head at this point that Alex doesn't know what he is going to do, it's all gonna come to a breaking point eventually and he's not sure they'll survive the fall out. Scott's a pretty understanding sort of guy, but lines like you're like my own personal brand of heroin weren't exactly something you just let go, unless you were some doe eyed teenager, and even then only the weird ones were okay with that.
003. So the thing is, when you're a man if you dress a certain way people start to get ideas about you. If you take pride in your appearance, if you wear suits that fit you to a T, if you happen to wear a fedora most days of the week and a waist coat, suddenly the whole world thinks you suck dick.
004. It isn't just his brother who has died, it's Arthur's fucking twin. Eames is wholly unprepared for this, for the pictures around the house, seeing the man who could have been Arthur, though he smiles far more than Arthur ever lets himself. At least as far as Eames has ever seen.
005. He's all the way on the other side of the bar, too far for Jensen to really stare the way he wants to, but he sees details - the line of his throat, the curl of his lips against the rim of glass raised briefly for a drink, and those eyes - he's really not close enough to see them properly, but god does he want to.
Post a single sentence from each WIP you have (or as many as you want to pick). No context, no explanations. No more than one sentence!

Me and Mondays are so over.
Apr. 4th, 2011 10:27 pmI'd like to tell you about my morning so you can kind of get an idea about the day I've had.
I woke up at an hour before the alarm, convinced I was going to miss it, and subsequently woke up about every 10 minutes until the alarm went off. It was dark and stormy and thundery outside and all I wanted to do was pull the covers over my head.
But I got up and got dressed and went downstairs to wait with my mother for my sister so we could all pile in the car - where we got to sit in traffic up to the school to drop off the sister, before turning around and sitting in more traffic to drop off the mother.
And then I drove home, but I had to take the long way home because omg have I mentioned the traffic?
Along the way home there is this turn, it's the sort of turn that isn't so much a turn as it is a 90 degree angle pretending to be a slow sloping turn one that you don't really need to slow down much for because it's residential so you're all ready going just 30 mph, so maybe you slow it down to 20.
I slowed it down more than that because it was raining earlier and I have this thing about driving in wet conditions. So it was somewhere around 15mph that I took this turn and then the whole world ended.
Well no, but there was major hydroplaning and my life flashed before my eyes and I was convinced I was going to flip the stupid minivan and people would have to see my horrible morning hair and I hadn't brushed my teeth yet and just ... yeah.
So it was a left turn, when I came to a full stop I was facing back in the direction I'd come.
All before 8:30am.

Summary Arthur is having trouble with his writing when the publishers bring in Eames to give him a little help
Author Notes Okay this was written for the
eames_arthur fanworks exchange back in February. The reveals post finally went up so now I'm posting it over here and claiming it as my own, edited slightly. I wrote this for
staticlights who asked for random AUs, and this is what I ended up with. Hmmm... should I post it to
eames_arthur again under my own name? Or is that redundant?
( They don't like it, Arthur. )

curse you tiny toilet!
Mar. 28th, 2011 10:33 pmMy Monday let me show you it:
1. The Social Security Office - Man I thought the DMV was terrible and soul crushing. At least I had the forethought to bring along the DS, Link and I ran around collecting rabbits and delivering treasure for 2 hours for my >5 minute meeting with the dude at the window. But at least I'll be getting a new card soon.
2. The Office - OMG you guys. So they've been doing some work in the space next to our office for a while now (since I've started) I can hear them banging around through the wall and all of that. Well turns out they were doing some work on the plumbing this weekend. Some plumber cut a pipe he wasn't supposed to cut, but rather than cap it off and seal it, he taped it. He taped a pipe that water runs through and was like okay that's all fixed.
Yeah. Right.
So when I got to the office after dealing with the SS office, oh the things that greeted me. All of our electronics - my entire work space, completely covered in water, from a weekend spent being poured on. Our fax machine, my phone, the credit card machine, the modem, the router just ... argh.
The building manager was there, they'd pulled up the carpet, moved all our files that are stored under my desk and were reboxing them in new dry boxes. I had to air out the faxes, order a new credit card machine, deal with the mover who came today to give us an estimate for our move next month, trying to find a way to get faxes that absolutely can not wait.
Just bleh.

What what what?
Mar. 26th, 2011 01:46 pmMaybe spoiler for White Collar S3, IDK it just showed up on Tumblr today and I am fascinated by it. I need to know more!
( Why is this happening and can I be a part of it? )
well... the email issue seems to have resolved itself. I'll just chalk that one up to the weirdness of the internet. Ugh it's all cloudy out like it wants to rain and I just want to pull the covers up over my head and go back to sleep.
But alas!
There will be breakfast and showers and work and then actual work. Off to start the day.
