Well my flist is filled with SPN squee/reviews/and such ... I haven't gotten around to watching it yet. We had family night tonight, so we grilled and my brother came over and we did dinner and talked and played the wii fit for each others entertainment - heh. It was fun though, I'll get around to watching spn tomorrow I'm sure.

Umm... I might be participating in NaNoWriMo this year, I went to bed kind of early last night, but had some trouble sleeping, and then an idea kind of formed in my head while I was laying there, and I considered just going to sleep and trying to remember in the morning, but I know me and I would have definitely forgotten, so I flicked on the light and hastily wrote out a few jumbled words so that I would recall my great idea come morning.

I've been doing some world building and character outlines this afternoon, and I'm actually pretty excited. I've gotten my siblings and mother involved in helping me come up with character names and bouncing ideas off of them. My middle sister was surprised I wanted her to read something I'm writing, because she often sees me writing fanfic, but no way in hell am I letting her near that - but I think she liked being included. I'm sure I'll continue bouncing ideas off of them as I plan and outline in the coming weeks up to November.

1,667 words a day for 30 days doesn't sound nearly so daunting this year for some reason, though I've kind of had a hard time doing 300 a day in the past for the mini_nanowrimo that I've participated in. But I think write or die will be very helpful as will a good outline.

Soooo yes, look forward to that possibly happening in the coming months!

Also sign up for [livejournal.com profile] kradamreversebb, you do the art first which is then picked by authors for inspiration for stories - it'll be cool. I'm just doing art this round I think. I've got enough writing on my plate at the moment. But you guys should sign up, whether you're an artist or a writer, it'll be fun :)

It's been a pretty uneventful weekend around these parts. There was Olympic watching, and cheering for Canada and their gold win, and of course cheering for the USA and their wins - I love the Olympics :D

I went and saw Percy Jackson and the Olympians tonight with my sister on a spur of the moment, it looked kind of silly in the previews, but I ended up liking it quite a bit, enough to perhaps read the books at some point. They're not the best movies ever, but they're cute and better than a lot of things that have been coming out recently.

Ummm.... my brother is moving out, so that's a yay. Means I'll finally be able to move in my stuff from the garage where it has lived since I moved home in 2008. Though it's looking like I won't have a bed for a while, which is unfortunate. My sister got my bed when I moved home, because... well I'm not sure why any more, but she's been sleeping on it for almost 2 years now, and as much as I love my bed, she's slept on it longer than I have now and that kind of squicks me out. So new bed, eventually. But at least my stuff can be in the house.

yep, I signed up for this ... cause I'm silly. I'm still working on my first Kradam fic, but it won't be big bang length. Still not sure what I'll do for this one, so if you have any ideas feel free to drop them my way.

now bed!

[livejournal.com profile] qafbigbang!!! You guys! A big bang for QAF - now I don't think I can actually write a QAF big bang, however, I have signed up to do art for it, and if anyone on my flist reads/writes/arts for QAF then you need to get over there now! I'm excited!

In other big bang news ... [livejournal.com profile] apocabigbang I kind of want to scrap my whole idea and start with something new, but OMG draft due on the 5th! I foresee a lot of write or die in my very near future.

Ummmmm.... yeah, still working on that kradam fic, I think I've got a pretty good idea of where I want to go with it now, so maybe in the next few days we will be seeing that.

Also I want to move after a few conversations I had today.

Yet again

You guys ... you guys

I've found the most perfect big bang challenge ever. And I had to sign up, despite all the craziness of the next few months. [livejournal.com profile] apocabigbang

It's an apocalyptic challenge, any fandom you want - even RPF. Plus the minimum word count is 10k and the rough draft isn't due until Feb, so I should be able to handle this even with a possible upcoming move and all the other things I am working on.

You guys should sign up too - I love apocalypse fic, it's one of my most favorite genres and I can't wait to see all the fic that is going to come out of this comm. Sign ups are now through Nov 3, so you've got time to wibble about it before you sign up :D

I signed up for Star Trek RPF (Chris/Karl). I've been wanting to write these two but all the challenges that are going on right now are too much for me to tackle so I'm so glad to have this one.

So we just finished up a rather uneventful Labor Day weekend around these parts. My sister came home from college (The girl has only been gone for 2 weeks and she was already coming home) and that was fun (ha). I recently moved into her bedroom, for several reasons: 1. I'm 25 and have been sharing a room with my mother for the past year, 2. We had an empty bedroom, 3. It's all manner of stupid to be sharing a room when you have an empty one.

I haven't done too much to it, I took down the ridiculous amount of posters and things that were up, and stacked them all nicely and neatly in the closet. And I brought in some of my things. And that's really about it. And suddenly I am a terrible person because omg where is sister going to sleep when she comes home, and omg where will she put all her stuff, and omg I can't believe you took her room.

When I moved away to college, anything I left at home got boxed up and shoved out into the garage probably the day after I was gone. I was sharing with my brother before I moved out, so when I moved out he made the room completely his and no one had a thought for where I was going to sleep when I came home. And hey when I had to move home the second time, everything except for my clothes, you know where that all went?

In the garage.

So I have little sympathy for my sister who comes home and wants to complain about me taking her room. That's what happens when you move out.

Other than that.... yeah.

I signed up to be an artist at [livejournal.com profile] rpf_big_bang at the last minute, because one of the summaries was just too tempting for me not to snag it. And so I did. We'll see how it turns out, my first time signing up as an artist for anything.

So I've been reading the fic that I claimed it's so long and I'm really enjoying it, already getting a lot of ideas for things I can do, and I'm not even halfway finished with it yet. I'll email the writer when I've finished reading to get some ideas from her about stuff she'd like to see and then I'll start on the arts.

God you guys, I am kind of stupid. I've signed up for [livejournal.com profile] rpf_big_bang, I've been tempted to join a bigbang before, but always been a little daunted, what with the whole length thing but I decided to get crazy and try this out this time. I may fail miserably but I think it's worth a shot. I've got a few ideas floating around in my head for something to write - so we shall see, it will be an adventure!

In other news, I am now rich. I got my tax return for this year and last year. Of course last year's was only $19, but still that is $19 I didn't have before. And I think I am going to spend my monies on one of those eee pcs I've had my eye on for a long time now, I don't need to replace my desk top, but I'd like a little something that's a bit more portable than what I have to work with now.

Also I've been given 2 dreamwidth invite codes if anyone who doesn't have one would like one.

hmm... what else?

Oh!

My family made me watch Live Free, or Die Hard tonight. Man, why did no one tell me it was so epic? That thing was seriously intense, and I am sad I didn't get to see it on the big screen. Woe is me. But I enjoyed it - especially since I couldn't go out tonight, little sister has her prom tonight, she looked so cute all dressed up and stuff and her date was cute as well, we spied on them and watched him opening the car door for her, heh. So the rest of us made dinner and watched a movie.

And um, yar. I guess that is all.
