acquiescence: ([AI] Kradam // ass grab)

It's been a pretty uneventful weekend around these parts. There was Olympic watching, and cheering for Canada and their gold win, and of course cheering for the USA and their wins - I love the Olympics :D

I went and saw Percy Jackson and the Olympians tonight with my sister on a spur of the moment, it looked kind of silly in the previews, but I ended up liking it quite a bit, enough to perhaps read the books at some point. They're not the best movies ever, but they're cute and better than a lot of things that have been coming out recently.

Ummm.... my brother is moving out, so that's a yay. Means I'll finally be able to move in my stuff from the garage where it has lived since I moved home in 2008. Though it's looking like I won't have a bed for a while, which is unfortunate. My sister got my bed when I moved home, because... well I'm not sure why any more, but she's been sleeping on it for almost 2 years now, and as much as I love my bed, she's slept on it longer than I have now and that kind of squicks me out. So new bed, eventually. But at least my stuff can be in the house.

yep, I signed up for this ... cause I'm silly. I'm still working on my first Kradam fic, but it won't be big bang length. Still not sure what I'll do for this one, so if you have any ideas feel free to drop them my way.

now bed!

Yay for another Big Bang :)

but Percy Jackson was a terrible film! Seriously, it had nothing in common with the books, which are a million times better, anyday. If you liked the concept read the books, they're awesome.

I have a ton of theories of why they changed the books for the movie, mostly because if it doesn't make enough money for sequels, they don't want to leave the audience hanging *coughgoldencompasscough* But yeah, not the adaptation I was hoping for.

The irritating thing about The Golden Compass is that they left it on a cliffhanger that was much, much worse than the book's. Which made zero sense.

Ugh yes, I was not pleased with that cliffhanger at all

I knew what the cliffhanger was, and from an audience perspective who hasn't read the books, it made more sense. Otherwise you end the movie on a hugely negative note and there's little reason to want to see a sequel.

Hmm, I suppose it's more appropriate for an audience who hasn't read the book, but the book's ending is so moving and beautiful... it just cheesed me off they didn't use it.

I've gotten resigned to it when it comes to adaptations. The only one I wasn't miffed at was the first Narnia, but that was a rare exception.

I still rate the Lord of the Rings adaptation pretty high. It's the only one I've ever liked.

It is pretty good, but too many purists griping lets me give it as much credit as I can give Narnia, but that's because the movie elaborated the book in an expansive way, not a limiting way that so many do. Still, I'm just happy they're attempting to adapt the stuff, rather than doing sequel after bad sequel. Oh wait....

Ooooooh! I won't sign up obviously because I have a zillion other things to do, but that would be awesome to read, especially yours even if it's not big bang length. ♥

I hope you get a bed soon, sweetie!

Edited because apparently I cannot read. *facepalm*
