Date: 2010-07-10 01:02 am (UTC)I know these aren't your direct opinions, but I really take issue with the way this blogger takes issues with the owner. People, both black and white, in Cleveland love this guy, because he's a Cleveland guy, he sticks up for the city. In the midwest, we tend to love people who do that, because cities like Detroit and Cleveland get knocked around a lot, we feel a sense of pride when one of our "own" sticks up for us. That, to me, is what Dan Gilbert is doing.

Date: 2010-07-10 01:19 am (UTC)I'm surprised all of this is blowing up right now, but this is from an outsider, I don't know the issues with Cleveland, or the coaches or LeBron, I just think this article linked is interesting. And I totally think people of Cleveland/Ohio have the right to be upset about losing LeBron to any other team.
I actually remember years ago when they first scouted him out of high school (cause my ex lived in Cleveland, so he told me some of what was happening, and how excited everyone was to have this kid on their team). And having a player around for that many years a lot of people are going to be attached.
