Some things will forever in my mind be tied to a specific person. No matter how many years pass I cannot imagine the connection that my mind has forged changing in any real way.

I got an email yesterday, Van Morrison is coming to town and it was about tickets to see the show. And immedietely my mind went off into the direction of someone I used to be very close to. And then again tonight, I was browsing youtube videos - and I ended up on this one

And my mind went back to that same person, which just got me thinking about how many things are forever tied to one person. It's not all together terrible, but it does pull back a part of my heart that hasn't really felt anything in a while.

Just some rambly thoughts for the evening.

I have someone/some things that do this to me, too - my first real love, from my first year of college... I even wrote a poem about it...

*digs around*

Tolkien and sunsets,
Shooting stars and chess.
Northern lights,
Copyrights,
Staying up till all hours of the night.
(The silly notion of love at, well, second sight.)
These are the things that remind me of you.

Red hair and glasses,
Green sweaters and tea.
Memories
That never cease,
Forever connected to to you and me.
(I'd like my favorite things back, please.)
These are the things that remind me of you.

I really like this poem - it really sums up what I'm feeling tonight

I originally wrote it here (http://risti.livejournal.com/47902.html), in 2004, after listening to the soundtrack to ROTK and realizing that the lyrics to the song Billy Boyd sang was the poem from LOTR that this guy and I picked out to put at the end of the college yearbook we were editing together, three years earlier...

I'm pretty sure I cried, and I still can't listen to that song to this day without thinking of him.

I don't listen to the songs associated with the person that broke my heart, but sometimes they still come on the radio, or randomly show up on my I tunes. I find now that, now that I keep in touch with this person, that the songs don't hurt as much as the used to.

by the way, I love that song, 'Falling Slowly, is just.... i want to hug both of them
