Cooking :D

Today was a cooking day, I woke up with the need to make some of the things I've been planning to make for a few days now. And so it was decided that I'd made the Tomato Artichoke Tart. I thought I'd have it for a late lunch, but little did I know that despite the super easiness of making the crust you have to let it sit for an hour (still not entirely sure why that is) in the refrigerator once you make it before you can even think about rolling it out and then assembling the rest of your tart.

In any case, the extra time let me watch last night's episode of HGTV's Design Star. Heh I love those sorts of shows. So yeah.

But man this whole thing was so easy to make and it was so dang good. I mean taking out that hour of chill time, it took all of 15 minutes to put together, and once that's done you put it in the oven and wait. Easy Peasy. And despite my family's finicky taste buds they actually ate this and seemed to really like it - no one spit it out at least.

And let's not forget that I got to use the food processor for real, for like the first time too. So there's another accomplishment to go along with the great food.

ExpandAnd look I took a picture of it too, lol )

So good day, next thing I shall tackle is polenta with shallots and portabella mushrooms

There was more cooking tonight, though a bit spur of the moment, still fun to try out some new recipes though :D

We were at the store and we had to get something for dinner, I suggested my old stand by - stir fry, and my sisters revolted, apparently I've been feeding them too much stir fry lately. They wanted spaghetti, bleh. I'm not a fan, especially the way my family seems to like it best. It's like eating some noodles with a piece of meatloaf on top, lol.

So stir fry was out and spaghetti was out.

We browsed around the store, me making suggestions all the while, which were all turned down by my very picking siblings. Until finally we settled on chicken parmesan, and eggplant parmesan for me. So I just sort of winged it on both of those tonight, and they both turned out pretty well I think, we had it with angel hair, and green beans and corn - because apparent if you have green beans you have to have corn in it no matter how silly that seems.

And seeing as I was doing some cooking tonight, I made these little molten chocolate cakes as well. They were pretty durn good, though they could have used another few minutes in the oven and they would have been better if they'd actually come out of the cups I baked them in so you could really get the whole lava effect.

Alas.

Working on big bang tonight, goodness I really want to make the deadline. I just feel really stuck, I sort of lost momentum with it after those 2 weeks up in Indiana with no time to write and now that I do have time I can't seem to make it work :(
