1. He could see her face, contorted in fear as she was pulled away from him, lips no longer curled in that easy teasing smile, but contorted with fear the silent shape of his name there instead, and he couldn’t do anything, couldn’t reach her, couldn’t save her, couldn’t stop this.
2. The first slap came quickly and without warning, Charlie could feel Dennis tense beneath his hand.
3. So when he started staring at the picture on his desktop with something more than just amusement – well Chris wasn't sure what to think, other than his mother might have been right when she called him a little bit strange.
4. Jim knew better than to get in the way while Bones was working, he’d been jabbed with far too many hyposprays for getting in the way in the past to make that mistake again.
